Spitballing ideas: - allow image to be used as a background layer, and text string to render on foreground layer - allow very limited text styling options (color, font size, font weight, positioning) and only render generic keyword font families (monospace, serif, sans-serif) which clients have set fonts for 1/

- add prefetch flag to buttons that will serve a new frame, which will warm up a cache for possible images UX: - add a delay in image graying out, or even just ease it; at 300ms it should gray out. this might make loading times “appear” faster 2/2
