It feels like opening anything post 2023 is the equivalent of finding a well of slop. Books, apps, reviews, movies.

it feels like it's accelerated a lot lately. or maybe it's just the ongoing pile up. i'm trying to write something about this feeling in a blog but it's demotivating to even think about

I just made a post about memes that is on the same wave length. It almost feels like that in an attempt to make us all comfortable with slop its being shoved down our mouths so we will roll over and accept it.

i think the effect of all this slop is reducing everyone's standards. everyone is accepting very superficial content as sufficient because it's a quick and fast way to get the dopamine. a lot of younger ppl can't even make it through 1.5hr films anymore. they want the experience but they don't want the journey. slop gives them the illusion of the experience and deprives them of the journey
