An unexpected consequences of experiencing life altering grief is that the pains of everyday life no longer feel as heavy. It is as if on my pain scale the concept of 10 has changed. Sometimes, like yesterday, this is a good thing. Everyday problems give me less anxiety and I find it easier to just smile and work through it. Then other times it’s terrible because now I can actually imagine what it would feel like to lose my husband. The idea of losing people has become my greatest fear in life and I compare all bad things to that feeling. Has anyone else experienced a shift in their perception post experiencing grief?
