nothing like pan seared meat and veggies 🤤 made a quick stir fry for dinner with some seasoned pork that was 半額 (Hangaku, half price) at the supermarket along with onions, piman peppers, mushrooms, and peas so happy to have all my old cast iron pans from my last home here in Japan so i don't have to start over with unseasoned pans

Isn't this a Chinese iron wok? This is amazing! Even in Japan, very few ordinary households own one. The food cooks well and tastes delicious.

Yes this is! I bought it in Chinatown in San Francisco from the wok shop it's funny, when I was shopping at the wok shop. everything was kind of fancy and new and thin metal with plastic handles, and I just wanted a classic old cast iron walk with metal handles i waited till the old lady who ran the shop was done helping others, and asked for what I was looking for, she said "oh you want the cheapest one" real loud then quietly she said in a whisper, "it's also the best one. but don't tell the other customers... i want to sell them the more expensive ones" then the shop owner went in the back and grabbed this one that wasn't on display lol i brought all my cast iron pans from the US, i have a few other iron skillets that were my ex partner's grandmother's, who had such a large collection that when we broke up we split it in half because it was too much for my ex to use all of it

not only is it best for flavor and cooking non-stick, but it also is great for people with anemia as it adds extra iron to use cast iron cookware. I swear by it it's all I use except for things that I boil water in are stainless steel
