Wow. Unbelievable that they won’t give a specific reason. Do you think this is unique to Singapore or would they have the same policies in all countries?

I think it’s universal. Banks do the same when they terminate an account (or refuse to open one) because BSA/AML/KYC forbid them to inform customers of the reason. The rationale is that giving them the reason might help them circumvent the filters/safeguards. I think the broader industry has taken this from the banks’ playbooks and just doesn’t want to create any surface attack for themselves, incl. legal disputes of that termination motive.

Ugh. As a paying Dropbox customer I’m tempted to open a support ticket and ask them to explain this, but sounds like it would be futile. I would be so traumatized if this happened to me. 😢
