I think using the word DeFi for everything that is crypto finance is a mistake. First, not all protocols are decentralised and, second, it leaves out a huge part of its potential, which is TradFi migrating on-chain. We should rather talk about Finance 4.0, the same way we talk about Web 3.0.

Remember “open finance”? That’s actually a probably more descriptive term as these things are open but not necessarily decentralized

Unfortunately, it's 5 years too late to change terminology. Similarly calling smart contracts to contracts was a mistake. Solana, others, call them programs which is more closer to truth.

How about Fair Opportunity Finance vs DeFi? Because after all in 2020 we saw more fair launch opportunities than in the ICO days of 2017
