Are you aware of any reason to believe that this warning is accurate I am still getting it when I try to use @sayangel's frame that Jason casted, which had never shown this warning before

I was able just now to bid on an auction through the moxie frame using my wallet funds with no warning

Auctions are a different contract. If you want to reproduce the same behavior as the gift frame you need to try buying a token with you wallet (not vesting contract)
