Crypto has lost the plot. Smartphone revolution came in 2007 and look where we're now. Bitcoin came in 2009 and we're still a fringe cultish thing. We don't just need more consumer apps. We need fun things to do onchain. And watch the world come organically onchain.

Smartphone were new improved devices Crypto/web3/decentralized money and internet are far more radical concepts, and has to go against many entrenched interests that try to stop it. In the wide scope, it’s literally trying to replace the internet we know. In the narrow scope, it wants to replace some if the most powerful entities on earth, centralized money handlers (banks). It’s an uphill battle. Outcome is pretty inevitable though.

Yeah! I agree. I think we just need to accelerate this process. And I don't think this process will truly get accelerated by smart minds in the space focusing on building yet another L2. Need net new consumer experiences.

I kind of tend to believe adoption will happen with users actually knowing they’re onchain. I doubt an app will come along and people will finally be like: “shit, i need to open a wallet to use THIS app” There is no such app. But games, payment providers, uber… etc. will start to use wallets, as it will be a better user experience. If they never do, then another app will do it. But not necessarily brand itself as web3, just be better. At the same time, more and more people will gain financial freedom - suddenly, living in the middle of Tanzania no longer is an issue for making payments. Lastly, more and more people who already have a comfortable financial app layer in their region, or is using web3 apps without knowing, will keep learning and decide to put some of their savings in a place no government can touch it. Do you agree?
