Got to see the daylight DC1 in person yesterday at @edgecity ☀️ New screen tech that is basically super e-ink, very fast refresh rate. Can see in direct sunlight and has a warm backlight that doesn’t emit any blue light indoors. Feels great in hand and the knit cases are cool too.

Isn’t this actually LCD? I wish it was actually e-ink, so Remarkable 2 is still better.

How can you make that statement without trying it? 🤔 It is a new custom display cannot equate it to anything else on the market right now.

Based on his own statements on Hacker News. They haven’t been totally forward about what the tech actually is. And definitely aren’t calling it e-ink. I don’t think it’s possible currently to get to 60fps with e-ink. It has to be something else. E-paper is likely a name for a different type of LCD.
