Friendly reminder: Running an Ethereum full node + validators is relatively easy and very low hardware cost (<$500 USD). I'm running a full node and many validators on a low-powered Rock 5 Model B device (pictured is Mercadian Systems' Proteus variant).

To front-run the people who will say you need 32 ETH to run a validator: - You don't need any ETH to run a full node - You only need 32 ETH if you want to run a completely solo validator - You can run Rocket Pool's software on the device pictured and you only need 8 ETH + some RPL to stake in that case

I was experimenting running the Graph indexer on testnet last year and needed a full ETH node for it. The CPU didn't really matter but having more than 4 tb on fast pro grade nvme SSD was a requirement. So how did you manage the fast storage requirement part for that price?

I don’t think I posted this on here yet so might aswell… Here it is, the most ghetto ethereum node to ever exist, use this when someone tells u u need a supercomputer to run a node SSD somewhere off screen, DVI plugged into a monitor for the initial setup (no netboot sadge)

I’ll add that it’s also reasonably straightforward to set up (plenty of excellent online guides for entry-level Linux users) and to maintain (mine is maybe one client update a month now). And it consumes very little power (*cough* PoW *cough*).
