Temp check on doubling the Ethereum L1 gas limit (in 10mil increments from 30mil to 60mil) - thoughts? I have changed my solo staker configurations to target a 40 million gas limit already. Start with 40 million, see how the network handles it, then increase it further. More info: https://pumpthegas.org

I think your arguments are pretty sound. I feel like dev-wise it has just gotten pushed to the back burner for other stuff because previous gas limit increases have not taken this long. 🤷♂️

Does upping the gas limit make decreasing the slot time more difficult given bandwidth constraints? If we can only do one, decreasing slot times seems to be more useful no? I know it requires forking but are we shooting ourselves here?

I'm all for it, but realistically the impact will be small. This gas increase will allow a 2X increase in throughput, while we aim for a ~50X by peerdas.
