Currently since there isn't an easy way to renew your Basename , i decided to create an easy to use UI to support this

What if the sequencer was down, or was blocking you from interacting with a token via a swap etc (take the soneium example for instance), over the weekend @chomu and I worked on a public good that lets you swap ETH with a L2 token directly from mainnet in a permission less manner.

It's been a while since @base launched Basenames.

Some are wondering, how do I renew my Basename?

All it does behind the scenes is interact with the RegistrarController  contract and call the renew function using data from the UI

You cannot legitimately argue that rollups are different "countries" than Ethereum.

This was strictly demonstrated just today with the sonieum censorship stuff.

Rollups are bound to Ethereum because you can change the state on an L2 from Eth mainnet.

L2s are like cities/states…

The @Soneium situation is a good live demonstration of how launching an ethereum L2 is great for businesses *and* users.

Businesses can make very fine-grained choices around how much control they keep vs give to users.

But whatever rules they choose, that's what the rules are.…

since its a POC currently it only supports swap for one (doginme) on @base ,
 
We plan to add support for more tokens and support or other L2s which is built on top of @optimism stack
