I'm incredibly bullish on the changes coming to channels. Requiring ownership of the channel FT to cast there gives the FTs huge utility (for channels that opt in to the FT membership model).

I think this will make the communities around channels MUCH stronger and more aligned (even DAOish?), rather than now where channels are more like hashtags

That happens if channels decide to use it, but also isolates them A LOT, unless is like a group chat i don't think many channels are going to use it! Only the ones where are big guys and you are looking for egangement from them would work, but for me for example, building the /nice channel it would be bad!

yeah for sure the great thing is that channel owners can decide like you said. I agree that it may not be the right move for every channel, but I suspect over time more channels move in that direction
