In high school, I was a reporter on our weekly news broadcast. My beat was covering student council. All my friends were on student council including my best friend to this day First week of school, student council approved $5000 (ish) for their own new council chairs. I broke the story on the next broadcast which resulted in a scandal Everyone was mad at me I’d do it again.

It was in the thousands. I keep remembering $8k but BFF says it wasn’t that much. She might be downplaying or my memory is unreliable. It was an outlandish number worthy of my investigative reporting 😂
