A story. A long while ago (20 years back) Natalie’s Orchard Island Orange Juice was truly extraordinary… impressive flavor 9 times out of 10. Alas with their growth over the years, the quality of the orange juice rarely reaches such high marks, quite likely a result of many factors, chief among them the lack of truly great quality commercial orchards on a big enough scale to meet there demands. A few weeks back we picked up some of their Blood Orange and were greatly impressed… tonight we spotted more Blood Orange juice and promptly picked up another bottle. It was terrific, easily the best tasting orange juice we’ve enjoyed in many years. After dinner was rinsing the bottle and looked on the back and chuckled… Of course. Product of Italy. Might have to bring home a refractometer and check the brix on this next time. 10 of 10 would recommend if you can track it down. We still enjoy their standard OJ, just doesn’t reach the levels of past greatness.
