Farcaster

We're starting to think about a new sync model for Farcaster. 

The current system works but is unlikely to scale up another 10x. Here's our articulation of the problem we want to go after.

If you enjoy coming up with novel distributed systems algorithms, we have just the challenge for you.

I think looking through papers published by research from Google, Microsoft, etc. could yield good results. 


A lot of these are solved problems although for hubs I assume we need to go beyond to handle Byzantine failure and leaderless replicas.

Have there been any serious spikes (and shareable learnings) from federated or clustering approaches to hubs?
