If you’re building a consumer app, the best chance at retention is:

1. mobile app
2. Push notifications
3. Email notifications

Can’t think of a recent successful consumer app that didn’t have this.

Best I can come up with is MetaMask, Uniswap and OpenSea. But less consumer and more financial (ie whale heavy).

Who checks emails these days? I hate email notifications. I don’t have push notifications for mobile either. I come to farcaster whenever I feel like it. On average once or twice a day.

I’d say the younger generation is like me. 

TikTok doesn’t send emails. 

Wrt mobile notifications, yeah some are like this, not all. Many of my friends have Instagram TikTok notifications off. But they still use them every hour.

I guess Farcaster is for builders rn. I’ll turn on Warpcast notifications and see.
