ITAP of a family ;) I love hunting for these little guys on the grounds of Japanese shrines and temples. This finally is hiding in /kyoto at Shisendō Temple’s moss gardens. The /momiji (red leaves) were extra beautiful on the moss!

These are not, but sometimes you see similar statues on children’s graves as guardians. They are sometimes seen on corners of roads too and are meant to protect travelers. They are seen as good luck.
