I strongly feel it is, though they still kick you out for it as they want you to only stay on the bench next to the table and not on the actual table for security reasons (table being much higher -> fall is longer and harder)

in the end you fall anyways unless you know how to position the bench properly 8)

I thought it was mandatory to do this in Germany
