I personally use Netcup for VPS and Rootservers which is even cheaper and has good support though they don’t have LoadBalancers so I use Metallb

The difference is too stark. 

I have no idea but, I guess many people would suspect they operate at a loss to get users, maybe that's not the case, but with such a difference in price seems the first thing that comes to mind.
