Working with both and the reason I committed to pursue my masters degree is similar. Knowledge of the operator is invaluable if transfer skills are used. I both attempted outsourcing some projects and AI While AI makes me faster I now disabled autocomplete to think more and use AIwhen needed as tool and not default With outsourcing finding someone high quality and autonomous enough is hard. If one does, try to hire if possible or just pay them what they ask and be happy.
