Near-term changes to help Farcaster grow Everything below will help make it easier for people who hear about Farcaster to get started as quickly as possible and hopefully stick around. 1. Likely rebranding Warpcast to Farcaster; no final decision and if/when that's made we will have a clear public plan / communication 2. Base is launching a Farcaster feed in Coinbase Wallet to their millions of existing users 3. Improving cross-client and web client UX for Sign in with Farcaster and mini apps through "auth addresses"; for the average user that don't need to know anything about this other than they won't be constantly prompted to open their phone when using mini apps 4. Sign ups for most people will be free 5. Post sign up, helping new users get the most relevant feed based on their interests; we will also help them fund their wallet 6. Better sharing for mini apps — links that render nicely on other social media and in messaging apps, automatic deeplinking into apps 7. Warpcast Wallet on web

Sorry, you said sign ups will be free for most people so I was wondering how (if?) there will be subscription fees later. I forgot what the actual name for the fees were. Were they storage?

1. We are making storage units smaller / cheaper soonish 2. Sign ups will still have cost at the protocol level, albeit cheaper, but we will underwrite new users if they connect an X / Twitter account; otherwise, they can pay during onboarding like before 3. We haven't started charging annual fees yet since Snapchain isn't full yet and want to optimize for growth

Good to know will point 1 be just effectively changing allocation and price or are there other behaviours that change e.g expiry after year, buying through a contract? What happens to existing storage purchases?

- Units will be both way cheaper and way smaller - Cost goes down 10x to $0.20/unit - Limits go down ~8x - Existing units will follow the same rules as they do now Pretty close to "divide everything by 10" All the details are here: https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/discussions/229
