A lot of people in my generation are not having kids simply because it is not financially feasible to do so. Childcare would be one huge concern off the table. "A recent report by BabyCenter, a digital parenting resource company that helps support expecting and new parents, found that baby-related expenses now cost parents more than $20,000 in the first year alone, and that doesnβt include birth."

lol can confirm. Most cases both parents have to work, but for an infant or baby daycare where I am is typically $600+ per week and almost no one will do part time or flexible schedules. Full week or F off

we left NZ for Japan to be close to family and because childcare costs were/are obscene. Japan has its own problems with childcare (everything is full, teachers don't get paid well enough), but at least it's affordable.
