Here's my experience on running a crowdfunding campaign via /fabric 🧵⬇️ Crowdfi with Fabric is a really great tool for bootstrapped founders - so far I've raised 1.21eth (only 0.11 eth to go to reach my goal)! https://crowdfi.withfabric.xyz/campaign/farcandles-for-farcon-xc7kk30rtqtc

Crowdfunding can be a very great tool of validating whether your product can stand on itself or not, or whether you are a great storyteller. Ideally, you can do both. The reason I chose to crowdfund is so that people could see my entire plan, see who else believes in me, and so I could validate my product on it's own.

There are a few choices you have to make: - Campaign Duration: Short (24 hours) ranging to long (one month) - Your Goal: A specific number, or open ended - Min/Max Contribution amount, if you want folks to be able to contribute more to your campaign - Network: Be wary of gas fees!

Overall, people want to see that your campaign is *high effort*. Your existing customers want to see something new. And your pitch has to be convincing enough that strangers want to contribute too.

I first researched other successful crowdfunding campaigns on other web2 platforms, such as https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sienci/longmill-benchtop-cnc-router by my friend Andy and used those as a template. After writing a draft, I put it into GPT to give me some edits.

Then, made pics in Canva the exact dimensions (1440px by 810px) to fit into the /fabric campaign. Existing customer testimonials and the comparison page were the most important. A direct comparison as to why my product is better than the average off the shelf product, and social proof from my lovely customers.

I wrote out some drafts for casts announcing the campaign, and shared all that content it within my private circles. This helps to build FOMO and you get free advice.

Then, I put together a list of leads. Folks who have bought from me already, close friends who have supported me etc. I put this in a spreadsheet and wrote a few different drafts, such as this one. I tried to personalize them all (doing things that don't scale!) but genuinely meant every word I wrote to each segment.
