reasoning: many executive roles (e.g. business, politics) come with surprisingly small amounts of control. of course creative fields have constraints too, but the scale-to-freedom ratio in games feels particularly high: gameplay, story, environments, and even a player’s sense of choice. theme parks also up there.

game producer on AAA games. they’re in charge of the entire schedule/budget of all of the game teams (designer teams included). a league of legends producer, for example, has the power to prioritize narrative over art, or combat design over level design. firsthand experience, btw. i... longcast.jam.so/jj0Omx
