I'm finding the new channel processes a bit less inviting. Knowing that a person is going to manually review your join request, makes me overthink if I should even try.

Even if I were interested in the topic/community, I wouldn't wanna disappoint anyone by not participating enough, having become a member.

Previously casting into a channel was spontaneous, a place where your thoughts on a certain topic could belong. Now it's  less approachable. I haven't requested to join any channel unless I got an invite from the mods.
