Stablecoins have found product market fit and this chart shows it. Stablecoin activity is largely uncorrelated to crypto market cycles – organic, non-speculative use appears to be widespread and growing even as crypto trading volume fluctuates.

Primary challenge being privacy? Or storage cost of the new Message type. If it's privacy, maybe Block messages can be encrypted with the public key of the signer. That way only the signer App can check to see if someone is blocked. Although that prevents it from being a user-global list. Or can encrypt with the users' public key. Then it's a global list and users have to allow apps access to their block list one time or whenever they make changes to their list AND change apps. I'm sure there's a workable scheme here somewhere...

I’m going to try and make it. Might not make it for the race though.

It's very exciting to see where Farcaster goes from here. Need a better sync/consensus system, one that may one day enable optional sharding of the state perhaps? Can DAG based consensus help? They scale super well. What can you do without stake/points scores? Whatever happens, FC will likely set the bar.

You owe it to yourselves to read this FIP and the Storage Extension FIP. imo being an open protocol makes adjustments like this tricky to do, but Varun and the protocol team continue to be reasonable in how they approach this.

Just as being pro free speech means supporting speech acts you might not like or believe in, being pro innovation means supporting research and development in areas you might not like or believe in.

The proliferation of light clients will drive the costs of RPCs down. Without light clients there is a strong centralizing pressure on RPCs since their most valuable asset is reputation. This should in theory lead to high prices. With light clients, trust is no longer a factor, allowing more competition and lower prices. Be stingy, run a light client.

How frustrating was that? McLaren had two choices: 1. Ask the race leader to give up the win. 2. Apologize to the guy that lost the race because of your unnecessary strat call. Not surprising they made the wrong call again.

I actually spend some time on this today. My idea is that majority of hubs are not "fake" but sybil farmers. So, most of them wouldn't know/care about well-connectivity and just run 10-100s of them via automation. My idea is to build something like ethernodes.org, collect enough of peers and run analytics: 1. In-sync status 2. Uptime/Availability. I already noticed some peers struggle to reply for heavy queries Anything else?
