Jolt Alpha it out and it's crazy fast with more optimization opportunities remaining than any other zkVM. Since uses a many-round polynomial IOP based on sum-check + a commitment scheme for multilinear polynomials, it hasn't had all the eyes on it (like other methods). Lots of low-hanging fruit to PROVE FAST.

We're finally releasing Jolt Alpha – the world's fastest zkVM. Jolt is fully open source. Always has been and always will be. zkVMs are the closest I've seen to algorithmic magic and I believe they'll allow us to deliver on the promises of web3.

So sounds like we all think (and I agree) that Max doesn't want to leave RB. That would seem to indicate Horner (and Newey?) has to go? What a weird spot to be in. Politics always ruin things and we just don't have enough information on the whole controversy unfortunately.
