Oof, I'd just abandon the car if the alternator gives up. It's tedious on most cars but I can't imagine what a pain it might be on the 911.

At least it wasn't an alternator! Did that once in the middle of the night at a truck stop somewhere in back woods Tennessee, would not recommend
