If you are familiar with the bitcoin scene, you may have heard of the Winklevoss twins. Cameron and Tyler co-founded the crypto exchange Gemini in 2014, and are worth $5B each. But how did they achieve such incredible wealth at an early age ? Glad you asked, because this is where it gets interesting ! 😂 Winklevoss and his brother are known for co-founding HarvardConnection (later renamed ConnectU) along with Harvard classmate Divya Narendra. In 2004, the Winklevoss twins sued Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, claiming he stole their ConnectU idea to create the social networking site Facebook. Zuckerberg settled with the twins for $65M . The twins took their settlement and invested heavily in bitcoin which at the time was about $8 per bitcoin. The value of Bitcoin soared, and the twins' investments in Bitcoin, along with their cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, led to substantial wealth. The twins also established Winklevoss Capital, which invests in early-stage companies and startups.
