In a recent twist on Hyperliquid, a whale executed a simultaneous long and short position on $jellyjelly for 400 million tokens. While Hyperliquid liquidated the whale's short, they couldn't repurchase the tokens without benefiting the long trader. To counter this, they opened a leveraged short, prompting the community to buy back the token, which inflated its price and drained liquidity from the HLP Vault. This led to community withdrawals and ultimately Hyperliquid's liquidation, resulting in a +6.5M unrealized profit for the whale and a -11M loss for Hyperliquid.
