I wonder what platform they're using and how often people pay with BTC. Seems like a huge hassle. I'll never understand BTC for small payments.

I still can't believe that XLM and HBAR didn't take off for payments. Infinitely faster, cheaper, and easier than just about everything out there for payments. It was so shocking for me when I started getting into ETH more bc it felt like using stone tablets and carrier pigeons compared to XLM and HBAR.

XLM was the first token i ever bought on a CEX! was recently catching up with a friend at the stellar foundation and it's really weird how they treat XLM, his whole thing was that it's not financial, that it shouldn't be held and their whole move now is USDC on stellar instead 🤷

That's awesome! When I first learned about XLM it was called STR and they gave 5,000 to anyone that opened a wallet. I wanted more, so I had to buy 1 BTC (for $500!) and go through a bunch of trades since you couldn't buy it directly. Stellar tech is still incredible all these years later.

a lot of the tech that's been produced is very cool at the hobbyist level - i really like aspects of cardano, polkadot and cosmos/ibc as well! hopefully we're reaching a point where at least one of these systems starts to stick at a greater scale though 😵
