what's the best web3 database/storage service rn? and would using a service like this require me running my own node(hosting an instance of a db, running a node in a network to pin my data, etc) genuinely curious if anyone has a best answer, i don't really have one

are you just looking to support eth / need any access control restrictions like token gating or moderation permissions?

potentially token gating and light permissions in the future, but right now all I really need is a db where owners of either records or collections can be a wallet, and those records/collections can have their own schemas

also fwiw everyone says ipfs but i doubt it’s high throughput enough for most use cases, which is why ipld exists. can’t publish all that data on the dht need lazy pinning or something like that

agreed. someone suggested using a pinning service for JSON files but I’m not sure how strong that is espc when you need to support the amount of data an app needs all of the pinning mechanisms around IPFS have always thrown me off. I do like IPLD though.
