Autosummarize by Jason Huff, a reprinting from the (2010) project which used Microsoft Word (2008) to auto summarize the top 100 texts on Project Gutenberg. This process summarizes the texts in ten sentences. To note, this system is prior to Natural Language processing (GPT, etc), using a rules-based approach.

That’s interesting, thanks Ryan 🙏 I wasn’t even aware this function existed in Word 2008. Had a quick look at the website you shared as well, and it seems to have picked the sentences being the most relevant to the book’s theme. How’s the quality of the ‘Summarize’ then? 20 $DEGEN 🫴

I wasnt aware of the summarize option either, although I never really used Word. Im really interested to learn more about how early “AI” tools (pre deep learning) worked. When Im back at the studio Ill post some additional spreads.
