Autosummarize by Jason Huff, a reprinting from the (2010) project which used Microsoft Word (2008) to auto summarize the top 100 texts on Project Gutenberg. This process summarizes the texts in ten sentences. To note, this system is prior to Natural Language processing (GPT, etc), using a rules-based approach.

This little book is a gem in my collection. Print Outs - The Adventures of a Rebel Computer by Claudia Cornwall (1982). Tells the story of Edgar, the loneliness of a computer and his adventures as a poet, cartoonist, going on strike and being terrorized!

Exhibition catalogue for 'Possible Futures' by Adam Basanta. The show 'speculates on absurd-yet-plausible arrangements and relationships between discarded domestic objects, biological and artificial ecosystems, and techno-cultural artifacts.' 👇

'Ecologies of Becoming' by Sougwen Chung is the first monograph documenting the artist/researcher's work covering their practice in drawing, machine collaboration, performance and more. If you can make it to the New York Art Book Fair today we have a sneak peak of the prototype at table D4.🤍 https://sougwen.com/

May be breaking the rules of the channel, but this upcoming book looks like a major resource and of interest to many in the channel. 'Output' - An anthology of seven decades of English-language outputs from computer generation systems, chronicling the vast history of machine-written texts created long before ChatGPT.

Nancy Burson, a pioneer of synthetic photography, developed a system to fuse multiple images in to a new composite. One of her early explorations in the late 70's was the "aged" transformation, taking a photo of a person and predicting what they would look like later in life. Reminiscent of GANs but 35+ years before.

'Atlas of Anomalous AI' edited by Ben Vickers and K Allado-McDowell is like no other 'AI' book I've read; which all seem to hover around the ideas of creativity, technology and the potential pros/cons. This book dives deeper into historical perspectives on our relationship with knowledge and intelligence.

Almost ready to mint my OBJK4OBJK piece but working on a title. The piece is from an ongoing series of films called 'Lethologica' which consists of audio/video remixes of popular music, reimagining earworms with generative tools. #4 is pretty dark and I'm not sure many will sit through the 9+minutes... 🎧 required.

I held off sharing 'Aaron's Code' by Pamela McCorduck thinking it would be a book that would get posted right away given the resurgence of interest in Harold Cohen's work. Must read for artists working with plotters or machine intelligence.

'agam - the elysee salon' is visually the best book about Yaacov Agam that I've come across. With a trim size of close to 11" x 11" these four panel foldouts are huge. The book is great because it shows the artworks from different perspectives which is critical for Agam's work.

'The Wretched of the Screen' by Hito Steyerl is a collection of essays about the meshing of the image and politics, accelerated capitalism, the art system, labor extraction. It's been years, so overdue for another read. https://i.postimg.cc/9M7C6cNF/IMG-0042.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/MHJqxgh0/IMG-0041.jpg
