Hahahah that's amazing! I've heard of Severance but haven't started myself, I'm gonna add it to my list. I've been tearing through Reacher the last few days, pretty solid show! I'm about to be caught up in S3 to the weekly "one episode a week" part, so I can check out Severance then lol. And yup, this is part of the gauntlet of them determining if I'm fit to return to work or not. I heard too that it's "fit to return to a similar work as I was previously doing" and if that's the case, it's impossible. I can't do physical work anymore (I was an aircraft mechanic) and I'm pretty much stuck behind a computer IF I can do any work ever again. I'll wait and see what comes of it all though!

If you’re gonna watch anything, watch American Primeval, bad fucking ass! I gotta pay for Apple TV or binge severance on a free 7 day trial lol. Good luck with the appts man best wishes for real I can’t imagine having my future being decided by some doctors and some guidelines on whether I’m capable of working or not 😂

I do have American Primeval on my list too lol. Funny enough, after seeing your comment I was on FB and a buddy wrote something to the effect of "Severance is the best show EVER" lol. Weird how that works! Thanks bro, it's definitely a journey, and I really have no clue what the end result will be. I mean, being deemed unfit to return to work is a double-edged sword, it's good in that I'll be paid for the rest of my life, and bad because I'm still broken and likely in some degree and physical and mental pain/agony. We'll see what happens, but it is interesting because I've essentially already done all of this stuff. We did it all when I was still serving to deem whether I'm fit to stay in the military, and then you do it all again for potential work lol. It's a lot for sure!

Ya and if you’re deemed unfit to return to work you likely need to continue some sort of appts regularly to keep collecting those checks right? Or they just say good luck in life and send you on your way? My father was a firefighter and got hurt on the job, forced into disability retirement, he got lucky he had 16 years on the job plus 4 in the army and was able to collect full disability and pension and he’s just been working odd jobs for extra cash since he was 40 but lives everyday with back pain

Wouldn't be quite like it is now, probably a few appointments / check-ins a year type thing at most though. Damn, your dad is in a similar position then, a bunch of money that shows up into your account every month, but living the rest of your life in some type of agony is most definitely a trade off, sometimes a good one, bad days a terrible one. Thankfully I do have a pension as well (I think I told you that sometime last year) which will help whichever way the decision is when the time comes. But, I have at minimum until June, 2026 before that comes, and it could be even longer tbh. Just gonna play the game, be honest about my pain and struggles and see what happens!
