It's becoming clear we need a higher bar for tipper eligibility. Too many tippers are bots or very low-quality users. 

I'm doing some research to determine the best way to address this, but requiring every tipper meet an OpenRank threshold is the likely the most straightforward solution. Feedback welcome.

Starting tomorrow, only users who have an OpenRank following rank below 100k will be eligible for a tip allowance.

This will result in about ~40 current tippers losing eligibility (~8%). 

Generally speaking, the lower this rank, the more likely the account is controlled by a person aligned with Farcaster's long-term vision. So this requirement should help maintain high quality and reward genuine community members.

Considering the amount of research and consideration into this, I trust it’s the right move. What would it take to get a rank if you just started an account today and bought 100k tokens I wonder

But sub 100k following ranking doesn’t seem sooo difficult, for a bot account it’s not gonna happen because they don’t actually engage in any meaningful conversation or casts etc

The best way to boost the following ranking is get followed by OG accounts, so its a high bar.
