I think the steel man is that if you think about crypto as the main land and fiat as big galleons, stable coins are dinghy’s that go in between. 

They may go up and down with the tide but they bridge the gap. 

I don’t think the argument for stable coins is stability with inflation, it’s stability in ability to transact

If fiat keeps losing value due to inflation...are stablecoins actually stable?
