There are a lot of PMC types who want White Lotus to be “satirical” so that they can say “wow look how exaggerated and unrealistic these characters are” to avoid the realization that they are these characters

They want to make fun of their attitude to the locals or not being exactly intellectual enough to make them seem more petty bourgeoisie and/or like that one Republican guy from college.

Very funny underrated part of this season is how the one closet Republican woman is the only normal character

The events are exaggerated and unrealistic, the characters are extremely real. Basically if you went to college and/or have worked a white collar job in a major metropolitan area you know these people.
