it looks like there was an SEO catastrophe on Ethereum.org towards the end of 2023 down 85% from organic keyword all time highs anyone know if there were big changes made to the domain Oct/Nov 2023?

No idea what they were publishing but iirc October 2023 was both a core and that spam update

yeah def some big updates around that time, just seems like an outrageous graph with no recovery to be only that...unless they have a weird spam issue going on overall their content has always been high quality tho, seems really strange this is an example page that used to rank highly and now has basically no valuable page 1 keywords https://ethereum.org/en/get-eth/ has over 200 referring domains...decent enough content...very strange

Ok I had to look at this. All keywords drop off, regardless of intent & brand/non brand. RD’s steadily increasing at this time, no huge link loss at the time. Looks like the site’s just not getting maintenance on a technical level, though probably still too big a drop off for that alone. There’s a wild number of 404’s for pages that are right off the root and have tons of incoming links ethereum.org/en/ether/ has 383 RD’s. There’s a dozen of these that each have 100+ RD’s. Might have found a culprit. Look at 404’s and sort by first seen, tons of pages on the blog. subdomain that first show 404 summer 2023. But also the 404 increase on these pages with links has been ongoing for years
