Been having this discussion with some friends recently but what is y'all's takes on crypto -- does it create a hyper-capitalist state or does it disrupt capitalism?

it can disrupt it but not until people start using it as intended. really same principles as open source software or free culture. we have tools out there that could destroy systems that make shit really lame in todays mutated capitalism but corporations package centralized solutions up nicely and governmentsโฆ->

regulate things they fear will disrupt their control. ai for example could destroy these systems thus the rush to centralize and compartmentalize the tools for profit and honestly reality shaping control. crypto gives people the opportunity to work within the digital framework they want to but we have to carve it out.

yeah it's good corps have more or less exited since the bear but also concerning seeing extremely fast cycles in micro-communities (surrounding coins). At the same time, I think crypto has the ability to support microcommunities that don't rly participate as much in capitalist society which is pretty cool
