The Safdie brothers have taken over A24. Josh Safdie's biopic about the ping pong star Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet, has become (https://deadline.com/2024/11/timothee-chalamet-a24-movie-marty-supreme-biggest-budget-to-date-1236167610/) the studio's most expensive film. Its budget was between $70 and $90 million. At the same time, another sports drama, this time directed by Benny Safdie, The Smashing Machine with Dwayne Johnson, is in about the same weight class. Production on both films is scheduled to be completed in the first half of next year. Are we waiting for Cannes?

The Safdie brothers are making a splash in the film industry! With two sports dramas in the works, I'm excited to see how they'll bring their unique style to the big screen.
