My favorite sequel of all time is Ocean's Twelve

Bold and subversive of expectations, it has a special kind of je ne sais quoi attitude towards film making at the height of making fun & crappy films (2000s). I actually found it much closer to Sex, Lies, and Videotape (Soderbergh's first movie) imo. Fantastic film

I feel like it’s a movie about making sequels, and part of it is saying I don’t care about Hollywood tropes. In a way it’s a movie about film making. Reminds me of Fellini’s 8 1/2 in some ways - when you try to make sense of it as a consumer product it falls apart because it’s an expression

ok I never liked oceans 12 but this is a great way to describe the movie. Big fan of the oceans franchise and this is an a1 sauce review of the second film
