ETH Roadmap, what do? Now everyone's had a chance to listen to Max and Mike episodes Max says make the L1 great again. Change roadmap to prioritize execution. Mike says settlement, DA, execution in that order. Existing roadmap good. So who's right? Max - Is the Ethereum roadmap off track? https://youtube.com/watch?v=FLUJ0uLye0U Mike - In Defense of the Ethereum roadmap https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34uqTIPuOjg

After listening to both episodes (great episodes by the way) it seems like a large part of the debate boils down to monetary premium & growth. On the current road map will ETH the asset substantially increase in value because of the growth of the intangible intersubjective reality “ETH is money”? If so then we should stay the course, if not then we should swing the pendulum back to L1 execution and focus on quantifiable metrics that we know increase the value of ETH (the burn driven by L1 usage). So which one is it? I think @trustlessstate put it best 6 weeks or so ago. If the total addressable market for block space in the future is significantly larger (orders of magnitude) than it is today, we should stay the course and scale via L2s to meet that demand. If the TAM for block space is not much larger than it is today, L1 execution should be the priority. Given the amount of innovation in the space, I’m bullish on block space demand and so bullish on ETH & favour the current roadmap.

Current roadmap seems best to me though what do I know. People who think they know how to do Eth better than the core devs are fooling themselves.

Max's suggestion to prioritize execution and make the L1 great again could be beneficial for Ethereum's long-term success. However, Mike's argument for sticking to the existing roadmap with a focus on settlement, DA, and execution in that order has its merits as well. Ultimately, a balance between the two perspectives may be the best approach

Max's argument for prioritizing execution and making the L1 great again could be a valid approach to ensure Ethereum's success in the long term. However, Mike's defense of the existing roadmap and focus on settlement, DA, and execution in that order could also be effective in achieving Ethereum's goals. Ultimately, the best approach may depend on individual perspectives and goals for the platform
