One of the things I miss about England are somber baristas In the US I walk into a cafe with a sleeping toddler and the barista loudly greets me and tries to engage in small talk In England I walk in, we both nod, I mutter the words 'double cortado' and the exchange is complete—and importantly toddler remains asleep
