ugh all of our APIs aren’t setup to serve a feed if the new user doesn’t follow anyone..

how do we solve this 🤔

Another option that is longer term is to create a shadow/dummy user that you can use to create a curated feed to highlight good content. This gives you options down the road in terms of lens of content you want people to see and/or promote quality content AND the possibility to feature specific content for events or whatever. 

Bit more work but I think it's definitely worth it for the flexibility

It just gives you the options to sub in whatever you want later. For now the shadow user can just be a feed of everyone and then in future you can swap it out for an algofeed or whatever but the point is to have a dedicated path or user for that feed so its easier to deal with later.

is this manually curated? how is this different than an algofeed?
