As artists, we're not really "here for the money" if we were all about money, we'd do something other than art!! But someone investing in your art is soooo uplifting. Art isn't something people need. It's not a "must have" on their shopping list. A collector buys art because your work resonates with them. Collectors on @rodeodotclub give me exactly the buzz I need when people choose to collect my work albeit the money value is low, it's still being chosen and that is huge for me. I'm not a trending artist, I'm little known so every edition collected feels authentic. And yes, I know there are some that speculate on art, but the number of artists that will make their collectors gains are very few compared to the majority like me. Feeling grateful

I had one of the most full-on weeks I've had in a while, however, I still made time for my class. Paying to go to a life drawing class was the best choice I made in 2023. It's not about what I produce but the act of drawing: it's 2hrs of pure mindfulness every week. It is my best therapy. As I write this, I realise that all the art I have been making since 2021 is routed in the creative moment being a mechanism in managing my own health. Previously, my art was the medium through which I was telling stories of others I'd met when I was an humanitarian worker. One day I will get back to those, but in the meantime, my work stems from a personal desire for wellness. If it resonates with others, that's just a bonus. You can but actually easier and more pollen doing it with the pollen directly

Yes you have more success if you manually pollinate them then you'll get heaps of fruit. You take off a pollen pad and just rub it on all the stamens of all the flowers. It's quite easy once you know

I love scrolling @rodeodotclub cos I only see art!! I do miss the like button though cos unfortunately, I can't collect every piece I like, and when others liked my work, it helped me connect with more people rather than only those collecting.
