we need to see more independent musicians thrive in web3. the music industry screams for new ways of monetization, but nothing truly groundbreaking has happened in the past years. that's something i think about often, and i'm still yet to find the answers for what can be done about it.

yet the web3 is not even ready for decentralized music platform, because there is sound.xyz which bans accounts from sanctioned countries (like mine). Sadly, reels/tiktok/youtube + web2 platforms seems like the best way for me to promote myself still and monetize some pennies

yeah, there's definitely a lack of music consumption in web3 and i get it...it's hard to pay attention to a full song nowadays. that's also something we need to fix somehow.

True! But I don't think it can be fixed, this trend will probably keep going with each generation from now on. Fewer smart people, more people who follow the known route

it can and definitely will be fixed. people would say the same thing for digital art, and now see where we're at...people making a living off it thanks to the blockchain.
