To everyone who supported /flows over the last 9mo, We appreciate you immensely. The massive impact flows enabled, built by everyday people all over the world, was a sight to behold. Each and every one of you, from builders to curators to voters, helped make that impact a reality. More than 220 projects improved their corner of the world, and the nounish spirit was felt far and wide flows.wtf/impact I still believe in the idea of Nouns, a shining example of what a community of misfits, nerds, grassroots builders can do for the world with a little camaraderie, money, and some stylish glasses ⌐◨-◨ We don't need managers breathing down our necks, corporate boards to answer to, or leadership teams commissioning thought pieces curated by centralized committees. That's the old world. We are charting course towards something new, weirder, and hopefully -- better. I still believe in the grassroots, permissionless and decentralized vision of Nouns. Do you?

To the breakeven camp, I strongly reject the boring insular vision you laid out for Nouns. A vision needs to be exciting, especially if you're joining the conversation 4 years late. Nouns has been about public works, plurality, artwork and positive grassroots impact. It is weird, fun, and exciting. It is not a governance company managed by a leadership team, even if your investor background makes you think it should be. Voting down proposals at the last minute, giving no signal, and denying our attempts at compromise even though we made many is not how DAOs operate. It is how a group of people who fancy themselves the total corporate overlords of a community they don't understand would act.

Trying to turn Nouns into a governance think tank and measuring success based on how well you help other DAOs govern will not work to sustain energy in Nouns. There are plenty of soulless Defi DAOs out there. Nouns is about the culture, brand and community first. Attempting to co-opt the Nouns culture won't work. Gatekeeping the treasury might, but what does that leave you. #nounsbreakeven and #keepnounsweird can coexist, but only if you want them to. @0xdusk @0xjanedoe @5gram

Nounfolk are willing to compromise, collaborate, and engage with your vision. You all need to take more time to engage with the community. If you takeaway anything from this debacle, let it be that.
