why have cast, reaction, and link volumes dropped significantly since the ath while farcaster DAUs remaining stable?

my best guess is less degen farming because allowances changed

At the end of May, we adjusted Degen allowances, removing any incentive for farmers to post.

Degen algo changes is the biggest factor imho

People are not engagement farming anymore (also less bots reacting etc)

DAUs still love farcaster and believe in degen

The shift from quantity to quality has happened

Farming tips and guns and that kinda low value low effort behaviour has been disincentivised recently with the DEGEN algo changes, as others have mentioned. I suspect this is the main factor.

The change was right around the end of month. So most likely degen meta change.

every day I open the /product channel and the content is 4 days old. I tried to cast several time non crypto product related stuff and never get traction

what /product followers are expecting to see/chat about here? if it is not about product, do we need a real new channel to talk about product/how to build better products/good practices etc?

reaction to cast ratio has been subpar since the priority mode activated on channels

good things take time—frictionless experiences—product × strat × ops

Most likely due to the degen allowance changes

maybe less farming/bots. more genuine engagement that keeps people here.

It's pretty clear to me now after looking at the replies.. 🫡

At one point man, just farming is boring and not that big of a value(at least in my perspective). But fun casts are there too might get stable after a while

It’s no longer profitable to push for massive engagement numbers to gain rank.

In addition to farming, maybe some user fatigue, and perhaps reduced participation with crypto markets on the downswing.
