one reason we don't have as much great music/art/cinema these days is that being a celebrity totally sucks ass. incentives dwindling toward zero.

that's just the tax of being mainstream. IMO the real issue is that social network's algorithms are a race to the bottom ... shitty content that is addicting but doesn't transform
